David C. Wynecoop Memorial Clinic Booster Info

The David C. Wynecoop Memorial Clinic has COVID-19 booster vaccines available for the following eligible groups:

  • Age 65 and older:  No appointment needed, present to the COVID testing tent on Thursday mornings from 9 to 11:30, or call to schedule.
  • Ages 18 to 64 with high risk medical conditions, please call the clinic to schedule.  If you have questions about whether you have a condition or work that puts you at high risk please call the clinic to speak with a nurse.

The CDC considers the following to be medical conditions that make you high risk for severe COVID 19 illness:

  • Cancer that is active or those under treatment for cancer
  • Chronic Kidney disease, including those on dialysis
  • Chronic Liver disease such as cirrhosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and autoimmune hepatitis
  • Chronic Lung diseases such as COPD, emphysema and moderate to severe asthma or any conditions that causes scarring in the lungs like pulmonary embolism or pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis.
  • Dementia or other neurological conditions such as Alzheimers.
  • Type 1 or type 2 Diabetes.
  • Down Syndrome
  • Heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease,  or possibly hypertension.
  • HIV infection
  • Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) including those on medications for RA, Lupus and other diseases that can suppress the immune system.
  • Mental Health Conditions such as chronic depression and schizophrenia
  • Overweight and Obesity
  • Pregnancy
  • Sickle Cell disease or thalassemia
  • Smoking – current or former smoker.
  • Solid organ or blood stem cell transplant
  • History of stroke or TIA
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Ages 18 to 64 years in occupations that put them at high risk should also consider getting a booster dose:  frontline workers in health care, law enforcement, corrections, schools, postal work, grocery stores or other work that puts them in frequent contact with those who might be unvaccinated or where masking and social distancing is not practiced.  Please call the clinic to schedule.
  • Boosters are for those that have received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines at least 6 months ago, and the J&J at least 2 months ago.  Please call with any questions regarding the timing of your last dose.

COVID-19 Vaccine update for the week of February 16, 2021:

 The Wellpinit Service Unit expects 100 Prime (first) doses and 100 booster (second) doses to administer this week.

 The Wellpinit Clinic is currently scheduling individuals whom are: 

  • Essential personnel working on the reservation
  • Individuals 40 years and older
  • Individuals 18 years and older with two or more high risk medical conditions
  • Individuals 18 and older in multi-generational households

 AND:

  • Active patient at Wellpinit Clinic, or
  • Resides on the Spokane Reservation or
  • Essential personnel working on the Spokane Reservation

If no appointments are available for this week you will be placed on the waiting list and called as soon as next week’s distribution is announced. 

Please remember to bring your COVID-19 vaccine card with you to your booster shot appointment. 

 NOTICE:

A mass vaccine clinic is tentatively scheduled for February 25, 2021 at the Powwow Grounds.  We expect 300 doses.  This is for FIRST vaccines only.  The booster date is March 25, 2021. 

  • Open to individuals 18  years and older whom are active clinic users or reside on the Spokane Reservation
  • Picture ID required to determine birthdate and residency
  • You must be able to attend the booster date 3/25/2021
  • More information to be released as available
