Spokane Tribe Human Resources Department has oversight of the entire hiring process for the Spokane Tribe of Indians and corresponding Tribal programs.  The team strives to honor and respect cultural values in alignment with Tribal employment policies, goals and priorities.  The Spokane Tribe’s Human Resource team aims to ensure the most careful consideration and guidance is given toward the fair alignment of policy application.  Our goal is to develop and maintain a fair market range of compensation and benefits while we collectively organize our work around fulfilling a greater purpose for the Spokane Tribal citizens and surrounding community.

Spokane Tribal Enrollment Office offers services to enrolled Spokane Tribal Members and those applying for membership.

The Enrollment Office offers DNA testing for new applicants to establish enrollment eligibility, the office also offers family history research services , Tribal identification cards, assistance for Spokane Tribal Members for funeral/death benefits, Hunting and Fishing permits to Spokane Tribal Members and others identified within the STOI Wildlife policy and other items related to tribal enrollment.

Funeral Benefits

The Spokane Tribe offers our deepest condolences to the families of our beloved Spokane Tribal Members. We understand how difficult this time is therefore the Tribe offers Funeral and Death Benefits as follows:

  1. At the time of Death of an Enrolled Spokane Tribal Member, the total funeral benefit is up to $4600.00.
  2. At the time of Death of a spouse of an Enrolled Spokane Tribal Member, the total Funeral Benefit is $1000.00.

Please contact the Enrollment Officer at 458-6523 to obtain the breakdown of costs associated with this benefit, how the funds will be applied and other services available.

Midnite Mine Community Liaison

The Midnite Mine Community Liaison provides information to the community on the Midnite Mine Remediation project, organizes community meetings, and forward any concerns regarding the Midnite Mine to the appropriate entity. The Community Liaison works with the Spokane Tribe, the US Environmental Agency (EPA) and Newmont to gather information and to relay that information on to the Spokane Tribal Community. The Liaison also works with Newmont to manage the complaint and grievance mechanism for Spokane Tribal Community Members.

Post 10711

Veterans Post 10711 program representative can assist veterans  with various items including filing VA paperwork, assist with developing and writing up resumes and has computers available if needed to research jobs. At the Veterans facility a rec room is available for members to watch television, play billiards, chess or relax and read books. The facility has focused on improving the health of the Veterans and has an infrared sauna, a shower and a jetted tub available for use.  The program also has medical transports available for veterans to attend medical appointments.

The Spokane Tribe of Indians vision is to achieve true sovereignty by attaining self-sufficiency. We will preserve and enhance our traditional values by living and teaching the inherent principles of respect, honor and integrity as embodied in our language and life-ways. We will develop strong leadership through education, accountability, experience and positive reinforcement.
