COURT

Spokane Tribal Court

The Spokane Tribal Court is a court of general jurisdiction which extends to all
territory within the exterior boundaries of the Spokane Reservation and any extensions
held in Trust. Dedicated to serving the Spokane Indian Community, the Spokane Tribal
Court adjudicates both criminal and a wide range of civil cases from child custody to tort
and debt claims. The following is the Mission Statement of the Spokane Tribal Court:

Spokane Tribal Court Mission Statement
“The mission of Spokane Tribal Court is to provide equitable and expedient resolution by the impartial administration of justice to ensure peace and order on the Spokane Indian Reservation through interpretation of the Spokane Law and Order Code, and to promote the welfare of the Tribe, safeguard individual rights and due process, resolve disputes fairly and impartially, and secure the rights and powers which are inherent to the Tribe’s sovereignty.”
