The Spokane Tribe is seeking interested individuals* to serve on the following committees/board:

JOM (Johnson O’Malley) COMMITTEE

*Must be a parent of an eligible Indian student enrolled in Wellpinit, Mary Walker or Reardan School District.

Purpose of the Committee:

  • To promote the welfare of Indian children and youth in the home, at school, and within the community and
  • To raise the standards of school achievement of Indian
  • To foster relationships between the home and the school so that parents and teachers may collaborate fluently and intelligently in the education of Indian children and youth.
  • Please submit your Letter of Interest (LOI) detailing your background, experience and knowledge, as applicable, for Council
  • Spokane Tribal employees seeking consideration must also provide written approval from their direct supervisor and acknowledge the STOI policy for serving on

Wellpinit Water Issues

This morning we are experiencing a different water issue in the Wellpinit community; we have a water leak problem.  In order for us to repair the leak we would need to shut off water for about 2 hours (9 am to 11 am).  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Emergency Water Notice 6/27/2022

Good Afternoon,

 There is currently a Water supply issue that Utilities and Public Works has been made aware of. The Departments are working to restore water at this time and ask that you conserve water and avoid flushing toilets and to be mindful of water usages until the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience and stay safe in the meantime. A notice will be sent out when the issue has been resolved. Indian Child Welfare Advisory Committee (STICWAC) – Vacancy

Indian Child Welfare Advisory Committee (STICWAC)

 The role of the STICWAC shall be to advise the Spokane Tribal Department of Children and Family Services on matters related to the welfare of Indian children and families domiciled or residing on or near the Spokane Indian Reservation.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP (Five members, one alternate member)

  1. At least three members shall be members of the Spokane Tribe, which may include the alternate, and shall reside in one of the following counties: Stevens, Spokane, or
  2. Remaining members may be of Spokane Tribal descent, a spouse of a Spokane Tribal member, or a member of another Tribe but must reside on the Spokane Indian Reservation.
  3. No committee member may also be an employee of the Tribes’ Department of Health and Human Services.
  4. All members must pass a background check and have no convictions for crimes against children, felony domestic violence or felony drug/alcohol related
  5. Committee members must follow and adhere to the Tribe’s nepotism

Spring Chinook Allocation 6/9/2022

Tribal crews will be traveling to Leavenworth on Thursday June 9, 2022 to pick up salmon and will be distributing to three locations. This is the first Salmon allocation of the year so….Please be courteous to your DNR staff and your fellow tribal members to make sure all benefit from our Salmon Allocations. If you would like any extra fish, PLEASE wait till after the rush and most have had a chance to get fish. We have a limited amount for distribution. 

 Distribution Areas at approximately 3:30-4:00 p.m.

Wellpinit – Trading Post

West End – Pappy’s Corner

Ford – Kurt’s Corner

 Please bring own cooler or bags, bags will not be provided.

 The crews will call ahead to broadcast if there is a change in time of distribution.
