The Spokane Tribe and the Spokane Lilac Festival are working together to build a long-term relationship. Both the Tribe and the Festival have similar values and goals and it seemed to be a natural to collaborate. The Spokane Tribe of Indians was well represented at the May 19, 2007 Armed Forces Torchlight Parade which is held annually in downtown Spokane. The Tribe’s parade entry consisted of the Spokane Tribal Royalty, the Spokane Tribe’s VFW and members of the Wellpinit High School JROTC. The Spokane Tribe is proud to merge its goals with the Spokane Lilac Festival.
